Danny Hellstein (Goldstein) is a Physics PhD and Postdoctoral Research Computing Expert at Brandeis who enjoys programming simulations and using them to teach fundamental and physics concepts with fun visuals and easy to understand code. He aims to use his experience as a software engineer to improve the way we as physicists write code.
Danny got his PhD at Brandeis university studying models of chemical oscillators and active materials. He has since found work as a software engineer at The Mathworks where he works on technologies that enable real-time simulation of circuits with microsecond time steps. At Tufts Danny now worked on Morpho a language for shape optimization that aims to make it easy to posing and solve shape changing physics problems. At Brandeis Danny mentors postdocs and grad students on good coding practices.
Danny is currently seeking a full time physics faculty position in the Greater Boston Area.
